COMPETITION DESCRIPTION
There are many stories that have been left untold. Placed in the hands of a
visionary director an innovative idea can become a legendary masterpiece. In essence
the Director's Competition seeks films that reflect the magical touch of a true visionary.
Films will be judged upon the presentation of the overall story and all technical aspects
surrounding its presentation. The sub-categories open to submissions in the director’s
competition are as follows; Laugh Out Loud- Comedy Competition, To Be Or Not To Be-
Drama Competition, Bloody Night- Horror/Thriller Competition, Strange Brew-
Experimental Competition, Fast, Quick or Dead-Action Competition, Director’s
Perception –Genre Fusion Competition, The Outer Realm- Sci-Fi/Fantasy Competition.
If your film does not fit into a genre specific category please submit it to the Director’s
Perception- Genre Fusion Competition as it is an open-ended category and suitable for
all filmic content. Both short films and feature films are welcome to apply to any of the
above mentioned categories. We are of the belief that a great film is a great film
regardless of length! Regardless of what competition within the director’s division your
film is submitted to, all films will be considered for the grand prize of a week long shoot
equipped with the RedCam and camera operator. The shooting script will be derived
from the winner of the Screenwriter’s Competition while the producers will be from White
Night Studios.
